Hello, The Internet!
Let me tell you about what I just went through to get here.
I had a website that was at least active and working, even if it didn’t get much traffic, it still existed as far as the internet defined “Existed.” At some point in the last few months, something happened. As of this point, it is unexplainable. But when it happened, it happened all over my website’s face.
I could not access my website, the dashboard, or even the login page to get to the dashboard. I could still access all the files from my site, but I received an error that something on the backend was no longer working as it should when I tried to visit the site. Suffice it to say, I was not having a groovy time, and neither was my website.
So I tried a few different ways to access the site; I went through the cPanel to access the files, trying to find the part that was broken to fix it; then I went through my web host’s site builder, and I realized that I know too much about WordPress to pay extra for a template that only had limited use, so I finally decided with a heavy heart to just reset my website. I deleted everything since I wasn’t sure where the problem originated, and began a fresh WordPress site.
This has been both a humbling experience and a cathartic review of my skills in web design. I know it is not my normal area of expertise, but I like how my site has turned out so far, and I look forward to adding more to it as my portfolio and skill levels grow.
